MATHIS, Texas â More reports have been released detailing sexually explicit misconduct, intimidation, and other claims about the Mathis Police Department.
The statements some of which are shown here in full, with appropriate redactions, detail instances of a hostile work environment, sexually explicit misconduct, intimidation, tampering with evidence, and other claims.
The statements allege a pattern of inappropriate behavior by the Mathis Police Chief Marshall Scott Roush and two other department members, which prompted an executive session Monday evening.

In an executive session held Monday evening, Mathis city councilors consulted with the city attorney about numerous complaints and allegations of inappropriate behavior by the Mathis police chief and others within the department.
Statements from 11 current and former city employees were sent to Mathis city manager Michael Barrera in March. The written complaints alleged verbal abuse, sexual harassment and evidence stolen for personal use by Chief Marshall Scott Roush.
The first of the statements was put forth by former operations Lt. Brent J. Grundström, who was hired in October 2019. Grunström said he was bothered by conversations three employees had that included comments degrading women and plans to have other employees fired.
