impeachment. there s a political calculation in all of this. marquette poll released wednesday says folks in your state of wisconsin are actually split as to whether president trump did something, quote, seriously wrong in his dealings of ukraine. 42% believe he did something seriously wrong, 38% don t. what does this say about the political makeup of wisconsin which, of course, as you know, could determine the 2020 race? we re a purple state. you look at our election results and you know that. one thing i would point out in that poll is that we also had, among independents, majority people who all know that he did something he s not supposed to. i think the real question are what are the consequences of it? there s an outlier among other polls. we re a state that everyone will be watching in 2020.
totally disagree with your lead-in to this whole show today. okay. i think the washington punditry is somewhat in a bubble on this. i think the democrats had a bad week. why is that? last week. why is that? okay, for one thing, the polls are turning. in the president s favor. you have the marquette poll, in wisconsin, which is the gold standard of wisconsin polls. then you have the emerson poll, which is a nationwide poll, which actually shows trump s favorability going up. and i just think the people out there don t think this investigation is fair. they know that only democrat witnesses were allowed to be called. none of the winces that s not true. some of them were indeed called. there were republican witnesses called. here s what happened. there were three witnesses that democrats asked for, and republicans asked for. those three witnesses
republicans never win that. he won places well, the whole state of pennsylvania there wasn t single poll in wisconsin, there wasn t a single poll in wisconsin that ever had him ahead. there might have been one but no, the marquette poll was pretty off. there were some polls but they were all dismissed as outliers. if you looked at the overall trends, you could see the momentum was in trump s favor. some of the polls got it right. those few polls were seen as outliers. majority of the polls got it wrong. they ve gotten it wrong now frankly for three cycles. should be noted hillary clinton is leading in the popular vote. that s been the case for democrats i think the last five elections. what does that tell you, if anything? well, i mean, look, it tells me that generally the country holds what we might think of as kind of a left position or progressive position. and however we might parse that. but i want to talk about this
they attended her speech yesterday to the tune of about, i guess, 15,000. i think some will participate. they had nothing better to do. we have a ground game going on in arizona. we re working really, really hard. i believe with all of my heart, with the lead in the poll now, five points above her, that we ll deliver arizona again, a red state. what about the latino vote, is that a vote that s going to turn out in full force for her given the insulting things that have been said by donald trump, at least throughout this campaign, certainly when he started his campaign against mexican-americans and others? i believe the democrat party as well as the republican party has made a push to register hispanic voters. just because they re registered as hispanic voters does not mean or equate that they re all going
