We expected more fog this morning because we have that moisture hanging around, although we have started to fall under a bit more dry pattern which is why yesterday we were able to see sunshine in the afternoon. Heres what were looking at, areas of fog, hazel down to threequarter mile visibility. This is an extremely dense fog, patchy fog. Fourmile visibility in reading and five miles for blue bell, dropping into philadelphia. Northeast philly looks fine. We have lowhanging clouds. Some of our top of tower cameras are starting to see the gray out you see sometimes. Four miles visibility in mt. Holly and actually as we look through new jersey we see some areas where the fog is a little thicker. Millville is at four mile as well as Atlantic City outside. Drive with caution out there. Tragedy in philadelphias bustleton neighborhood. What can you tell us about the victims, pam . Neighbors say a husband and wife live in this home. They tell us they dropped their daughter off to college. Officials havent identified the victims yet but what they are telling us is that the bodies of a woman and man were pulled out of that home. Firefighters got the call just before midnight. When they arrived they found the house in flames. Firefighters entered the home, recovered the two victims and immediately began cpr but it was too late. It took crews about 35 minutes to get the fire out. At some point there was an emergency evacuation ordered because of an odor of gas. The gas company responded as well. There was a minor gas cap gas leak, rather, that was capped. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. So Officials Say its far too soon to determine what connection, if any, that gas leak had to the fire. Theres a thunderstorm watch, and a Tropical Storm warning from miami down toward many of the florida keys. So a lot of the state of florida is going to be affected by this. Category 3, threat to the Florida East Coast maybe even back up to a category 4 by the time it hits, if it does strike land. The right turn that we have been talking about for days, is going to be even farther south than what we thought yesterday. Which means little or no impact around here. Packing a punch. Thats right. When you see a hurricane this close to shore, the issue is the eye over land. Thats what youre seeing. The center is this clear spot, it has not made landfall but is close, close enough it doesnt matter if it weakened a bit. Youre seeing heavy rain bands, very high winds, around 100 Miles Per Hour as well as that serious storm surge pushing in. These areas are going to be dealing with damage as we see it move off later today. It is a question of how much damage certain spots see and if it will make landfall. Regardless of landfall, look at the wind speeds. Hilton head, 85 Miles Per Hour. Next in line is charleston. Right now at 30 but that will increase through the morning. Radar and satellite shows cloud cover thick, starting to move through. Rain to the west and southwest. We have a cold front coming in from the west and moisture pulling in from the south because of Hurricane Matthew. The result is later today, we will likely see showers moving through.
