PHOENIXVILLE, PA The Phoenixville Area School District will induct three new members to its Wall of Fame on Monday evening John J. Coll Jr., a dedicated coach and volunteer, Big Tom Thomas E. Mitchell who was sometimes Santa Claus, and sports journalist Barry Irvin Sankey.
The induction event happens on Monday, May 3 at 7 p.m. outside the Phoenixville Area High School, 1200 Gay Street. If the weather is inclement then the ceremony will be moved inside to the high school auditorium, the school district said. The event is sponsored by the PASD Wall of Fame Committee.

A section of Gay Street between Church and Walnut streets will be closed weekdays, block-by-block, starting March 1 until July 1 for PECO utility work. (Marlene Lang)
This story has been updated to include a recent statement from West Chester Borough.
WEST CHESTER, PA – Gay Street will be shut down between Walnut and Church streets on weekdays one block at a time over four months for PECO utility work, and traffic will be detoured.
West Chester Borough noted this week that the entirety of Gay Street will not be shut down during this construction. PECO s subcontractors began closing one block at a time from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday starting on March 1.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA Chester County has averaged 1,386 new COVID-19 cases a week over the last month, even as a vaccine is distributed here and in Delaware County in a phased roll-out that s dependent on supplies.
How Many Have Gotten The Vaccine?
Since vaccination distribution began in late December, 9,304 in Chester County have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 1,367 have had the second dose, according to the Chester County Health Department. The most recent department report on Jan. 15 said 2,310 vaccines were given in the last week in Chester County.

WEST CHESTER, PA The Who and Where of vaccine distribution in Chester County are answerable this week, but the When question remains dependent on supplies, according to the county health department.
As Chester and Delaware county residents in the first phase of distribution began receiving their vaccinations this week, there were many questions for the health department about when the 1A group of frontline workers would be vaccinated, and when the next group would begin getting theirs. The short answer was that no definite time can be set.
