Pupils enjoy a sponsored read Mark Trueman is sitting comfortably, thanks to these youngsters from Audley House Prep School at Chesterton, near Bicester. They held a sponsored read in 1979 to raise money for Ritchie Russell House, the unit for the disabled at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford, where Mark was a patient. With the help of 50 other pupils, aged seven to 13, they raised £190, enough to pay for a reclining chair. Nursing officer Molly Worthington, back row, centre, said: “Reclining chairs are much better because they have a foot rest and you can alter the angle of the back.”
BRADFORD City wrapped up their League Two season with defeat at Morecambe, who secured a play-off for themselves. The Bantams’ trip to the place dubbed ‘Bradford on Sea’ saw them finish a disappointing season in 15th place. All eyes are now on what City do this summer, as they look to kick on next term under Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars. Here are a few views from City fans on social media following the season-ending trip to Morecambe: Bad news is we finished 15th in League 2,..good news is though, we finished above Harrogate...#bcafchttps://t.co/R7eNeHnQGFpic.twitter.com/Qc9PrO2G5k Tim Feather (@FeatherTim) May 8, 2021
THE majority of Bradford City fans begrudgingly agree that it was the right time for their two managers to leave their respective post. Mark Trueman, 33, and Conor Sellars, 29, were given their marching orders by the City board earlier this afternoon. CLUB STATEMENT | Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars have been relieved of their managerial duties at the club - with immediate effect. The pair had a remarkably good start after being handed the reigns on an initial interim basis when Stuart McCall was sacked last December. Six losses on the bounce left the club pondering their future in the Football League but those fortunes were quickly reversed.
IT was always going to a tough test for the new and improved Bradford City and so it proved. Danny Rowe was the injury-time hero for City as he struck to earn his side a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers at Valley Parade on Saturday. The 93rd-minute strike also maintained City’s recent impressive unbeaten run under Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars. The Bantams will be hoping to grab all three points when they travel to Cardiff tomorrow night to take on Newport County. Here are a few views from social media on City’s draw with Bolton: Mate, this mini-doc just sums up the turnaround at this club over the last few months.
