Pupils enjoy a sponsored read Mark Trueman is sitting comfortably, thanks to these youngsters from Audley House Prep School at Chesterton, near Bicester. They held a sponsored read in 1979 to raise money for Ritchie Russell House, the unit for the disabled at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford, where Mark was a patient. With the help of 50 other pupils, aged seven to 13, they raised £190, enough to pay for a reclining chair. Nursing officer Molly Worthington, back row, centre, said: “Reclining chairs are much better because they have a foot rest and you can alter the angle of the back.”
