COVID vaccine in Brockton: Gov Baker urged to prioritize teachers

BROCKTON  City officials have asked Gov. Charlie Baker to move educators up in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and treat them like the frontline essential workers that they are so students and teachers can safely return to classrooms. The letter, signed by Mayor Robert Sullivan, Superintendent Michael Thomas and members of the school committee and city council, was sent to Baker on Wednesday, just days before the beginning of Phase 2 distribution of the vaccine in Massachusetts. Although educators are in Phase 2, they fall third in line in priority, behind those who are 75 or older and those 65 or older or anyone with two or more comorbidities.
