Homeless man arrested for leaving false bomb

BATH Bath authorities on Friday reported the arrest of Mark Charles Burke, AKA Charlie Burke, 59, a homeless Bath resident, who police accuse of leaving suspicious and threatening items around the village.
Burke was charged with leaving a false bomb, a class D felony, in connection with the Dec. 4 discovery of a device resembling a bomb that had been left at the Steuben County Mental Health building on Liberty Street.
The New York State Police Bomb Disposal unit was called to the scene after officials ordered an evacuation of the building.
