Care home staff and residents have paid a heartfelt artistic tribute to nurses for their heroic efforts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Pendine Park, which operates Bryn Seiont Newydd Caernarfon and seven homes in Wrexham, is marking the contribution of its nursing team on International Nurses Day with a series of symbolic lanterns. The annual celebration of nurses across the world is held on the anniversary of the birth of nursing trailblazer Florence Nightingale known as the Lady with the Lamp, on May 12, 1820. Art class members at Pendine Park have been helping to shed light on the contribution of nurses by creating the distinctive lanterns.

Pendine Park artist in residence Sarah Edwards with some of the artwork created by residents which will appear in an online art exhibition. CARE home residents have spoken of their pride at having their paintings featured in an online exhibition. A showcase by Pendine Park features the work of residents at the Bryn Seiont Newydd care home in Caernarfon that will open on World Art Day on April 15, the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci in 1452. The art classes are organised by artist-in-residence Sarah Edwards who last year celebrated her 25th anniversary of working with Pendine.
