Reporter this was a crucial weapon in the battle against the monticello fire. Helicopter after helicopter reloaded their buckets to fight a blaze burning in a remote and rugged area. On the ground crews were miles per gallon up hotspots in the areas already charred by the wildfire. At one point saturday it appeared that the fire jumped the line and tripled in size.
