This is T.S. Monk s first album in almost 20 years and features music recorded in Bern, Switzerland in 2016 and in Harlem in 2014. T.S Monk has had an off-and-on relationship with jazz. Being the only son of Thelonious Monk, he had a very musical upbringing, and having decided on drums at the age of 15, his father made a call to Ark Blakey to ask for a set of drums and another call to Max Roach to tell him he was "sending the kid over for lessons".
