TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Volleyball Team is down to its final two regular-season matches, both taking place at Tully Gym on Wednesday vs. Notre Dame at 3 p.m. and Friday vs. No. 14 Georgia Tech at 6 p.m.
Wednesday’s matchup with the Fighting Irish (12-14, 9-7) is Senior Day, with pre-match tributes being held for seniors Morgan Chacon, Lily Tessier, Caroline Golden and Marissa Stockman. Wednesday is a Spear-It Rewards Match, and any senior in attendance can stop by the marketing table to earn an extra 100 points to their account.
Florida State Athletics will also be giving away four men's basketball tickets to that evening's men's basketball game vs. Boston University at 7p.m. Fans can stop by the marketing table for their chance to win. The winner will be announced
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Volleyball team lost just its second home match of the season on Friday in what was a thrilling five-setter vs. Miami, falling to the Hurricanes, 3-2 (25-19, 19-25, 25-20, 22-25, 12-15), in front of a packed crowd at Tully Gym.
The Seminoles (19-7, 11-5) held the edge most of the fifth set, leading 12-8 before Miami (22-4, 13-3) rattled off the final seven points to win the match.
Friday’s rivalry matchup featured several entertaining long rallies between two of the top digging teams in the ACC. Redshirt junior setter Lily Tessier had the tall task of engineering FSU’s offense against a good Miami defense and did a solid job with 51 assists as well as a team-best 22 digs, her 10th double-double of the season.
