A Deadly Day in Gaza City
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City flattened three buildings and killed at least 42 people Sunday, Palestinian medics said, in the deadliest single attack in the latest round of violence. Despite the toll and international efforts to broker a cease-fire, Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu signaled the fourth war with Gaza’s Hamas rulers would rage on.
In a televised address, Netanyahu said Israel “wants to levy a heavy price” on the Hamas militant group. Early Monday, Israeli warplanes unleashed a new series of heavy airstrikes at several locations in Gaza City.

INVERCLYDE S lockdown heroes who helped the community during the pandemic have been recognised with special awards. Despite the pandemic restrictions, teenage charity champion Leah Canning pulled together her Inverclyde Inspirational Awards for the second year in a row. This time round many of the local people who were at the heart of the relief effort during Covid-19 were nominated. Winners included music stars like Reely Jiggered, mental health charity Man On Inverclyde and students from Songbird Singing were all recognised, among others.
KIND kiltwalkers across Inverclyde raised more than £6,000 for a local Christian mission. Fundraisers walked, cycled and danced their way across Inverclyde for Kidron as part of this year s Virtual Kiltwalk weekend. The energetic activities generated more than £4,000 which will be increased to more than £6,000 by the Sir Tom Hunter Foundation. Kidron s non-executive director Colin Campbell says the team are thrilled and completely shocked by the amount of money raised. He said: We didn t have very high expectations as we know it s been a very difficult time for everyone. We weren t able to do any fundraising at all last year so it was great to see so many people getting involved this time around.
