Since its development in the 1970s, Sephora has risen to become more than just a successful chain of cosmetics stores, it’s a part of a global zeitgeist and has helped us understand beauty and skincare in a way that celebrates the beauty of being melanin-rich; Black is truly beautiful.
Sephora’s signature shopfronts in countries all over the globe are synonymous with style, beauty, elegance, and finding the beauty inside.
I admit, that I am one of the enlisted fans who frequently visit the store, and before COVID-19, I’d leave the store with samples of brands like Nars, Marc Jacobs, and HourGlass, which all lead to purchases of the aforementioned brands. Except for the Holiday Sephora Mascara gift box (one of the best values, ever) I’d never been tempted to try their make-up or skincare products, and I have missed out over the years because of that choice.
