Duane E. McDonald Sr., age 87 of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Astoria Place of Cambridge. He was born on April 14, 1934 in Akron, a son of the late Donald E. McDonald and Margaret Elizabeth (Cunningham) McDonald. Duane was an ardent sports fan who loved the Buckeyes, Reds and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching about any kind of sport. Playing softball and coaching baseball, was a great bowler and loved spending time golfing with his son, grandson and friends. For 30 years he refereed high school football, many a Friday night was spent on the football field. An expert crossword puzzler his entire life, he could finish a Sunday New York Times crossword in record time! Any trivia question was within his knowledge and loved using odd and uncommon words, just to flummox you. It is with sadness in our hearts that we share news of Marilyn’s passing on Sunday, February 28th, 2021 after a long, hard-fought battle with Huntington’s Disease.
Marilyn Jean Kaechele was the eldest of 2 daughters born to George & Jean Kaechele. Marilyn and her sister Edi grew up on the family farm just east of Three Hills. She is predeceased by both parents, Jean in 1987 and George in 2010.
Marilyn married Gary Trentham in 1969 and moved to Drumheller. Early on, she worked for a local Credit Union, then Alberta Power in Drum before starting her own
successful bookkeeping business, which she operated until the effects of Huntington’s made it impossible to carry on.

Marilyn Jean (Gundlach) Purmal of San Francisco, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones. Jean’s father, Norris Gundlach lived in Rhinelander for many years.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and was smart, kind and generous. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; two children; three grandchildren and four siblings. Jean loved to travel and cook.
