Reporter what caused the problem initially is still a mystery. But the threat in the bay appears to be over. Today two dozen birds appeared to have survived it all with flying colors. Okay. We have a male here and just turned around there you go. Reporter and with that, 24 birds were given a new lease on life. These are some of the hundreds of birds found coated in a mystery substance over the last two weeks. This is the first group to have graduated from the International Bird rescues operation to save them. Most are surf scoters. Their feathers are impacted in this way and they have to be cleaned.
