DUMBARTON’S health board is asking local knitting enthusiasts to have a heart for those who have suffered from the Covid-19 pandemic. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s nursing and midwifery staff are appealing for knitting needles and crotchet hooks to be picked up to support their ‘From the Heart’ campaign – a drive to supply patients in hospitals and residents in care homes with small, knitted hearts to show them how much the community cares for them. Dr Margaret McGuire, board nurse director, said: “Sadly we are facing another peak in this pandemic and this is one small way in which we can try and ensure that our patients and residents and their loved ones can still feel connected.
