The kindercare in west allis is set to reopen at six this morning. After heavy rain caused flooding outside its building. The flooding was so bad, some of the kids got stuck inside. Daycare employees called parents and told them they would feed the kids dinner while parents waited for the roads to dry out. When that didnt happen, they called the fire members of the Fire Department walked the kids down to the rigs until the parents could pick them up. And the kids were fine for them it was a tt for a short period of time. The last child was picked up at about 915 last night. Three hours after the daycare normally closes. This morning, were still waiting to find out how much raw sewage got dumped into Lake Michigan as heavy rain poured down in milwaukee. Classrooms were also emptied at parkview primary in the afternoon. Students from that school were park pavilion for parents to pick up. The gush of water started flooding the roads jumping the curb and threatening the schools but firefighters from several departments jumped in. They spent hours trying to move the water and keep it out of the buildings and volunteers also came out dozens filling up sandbags to keep the water out. Classes today but teachers will be here. Firefighters and volunteers dumped all these sandbags to stop the water from getting to st. Johns lutheran school. Now lutheran school. Now that the water is gone, the clean up effort begins. Crews are removing the concrete barriers and sandbags dumped on Bridge Street yesterday when a gush of water flooded the road. The rising waters forced School Leaders to evacuate 2 schools.
