SRINAGAR, Jammu and Kashmir, India (AA): At least two dozen shacks belonging to Rohingya refugees were burned in an overnight fire in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, a leader of the persecuted community said on Monday.
Salamat Ullah told Anadolu Agency that a school and mosque were among the gutted structures, while more than 18 families were left homeless.
He said the fire, which started around 1 a.m. local time (1930 GMT) in Maratha Mohalla area of Jammu, also destroyed his own shop. He appreciated local police for help during the crisis.
