Top storylines: Avoiding a COVID-19 pause may come down to luck, but navigating a season in which teams can expect games postponed or cancelled will be a key. With teams playing more regionally-based schedules, will new rivalries emerge?
Changes: The biggest change is the wearing of masks at all times. Athletes who competed in winter sports should have an easier time adjusting. For boys lacrosse players wearing helmets, keeping the mask from sliding down could prove difficult. It will be up to officials and coaches to help make sure masks are always worn properly.

Junior Alex Hemingway was state Class C champ last year and talented Emily Kidd is also back in the fold for Mt. Abram.

Mt. Blue Alpine ski coach Mark Cyr said newcomers will lighten the load after the Cougars lost a few top-notch skiers this season.
“We have had an outstanding early season, really focusing on fundamentals,” Cyr said. “With everything pushed back, we can spend more time on the basics, both mechanics and tactics. We are taking it slow and making sure we get every athlete in a good place to start racing.”
