A group led by former NSW Labor Premier Barrie Unsworth has sealed a deal to buy Gough Whitlam s former house before it was due to go to auction this weekend.

Now, a group of Labor Party heavyweights want to step in to save the house of Gough Whitlam in Cabramatta in south-west Sydney.
The house is going to auction this weekend â the first time it s been on the market in 30 years.
