It was the family home of a prime minister during one of the most tumultuous periods in Australian politics.
Now, a group of Labor Party heavyweights want to step in to save the house of Gough Whitlam in Cabramatta in south-west Sydney.
The house is going to auction this weekend â the first time it's been on the market in 30 years.
