DURBAN - Regent of the Zulu nation, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu has been laid to rest.
The third wife of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini was interred during a private ceremony attended only by close members of the Zulu and Swati royal families in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The 65-year-old will be buried according to Swati royal culture and per her wish, she will not go to the Zulu royal graveyard of Makhosini near Ulundi.

The body of Zulu nation regent, Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, arrived on Wednesday afternoon at the Kangela Royal Palace in Nongoma after being transported from Johannesburg, where she passed away.
Zulu maidens, amabutho and other members of the public lined the streets to salute the queen as the hearse carrying her body made it’s way to the palace.

DURBAN - Gauteng premier David Makhura said while he understood that Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu’s passing was a sad occasion for the Zulu nation, mourners must adhere to COVID-19 regulations as the country was still in a pandemic.
The Queen passed away last week at a Johannesburg hospital, aged 65.
