(KEYC) The Abraham Lincoln statue that currently resides in the Centennial Student Union has been a part of Minnesota State University, Mankato’s campus since 1926 and has been placed in multiple locations over the years. Now, campus leaders are having a conversation about education and informing campus visitors about the complicated history surrounding the 16th President of the United States. The discussion is going to be about highlighting his political career, while also acknowledging some of the more complicated issues, like the mass execution of Native Americans in 1862.

(KEYC) Blue Earth County Public Health and Mankato Area Public Schools announced Wednesday that they are teaming up to host a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic Friday in Mankato. The clinic will be hosted at the Lincoln Community Center, located at 110 Fulton Street in Mankato, between 2 and 6:30 p.m. The Moderna vaccine will be offered at this clinic to anyone 18 and older. A second dose will be provided four weeks after the initial dose.

(KEYC) — This week’s Pick of the Litter is Roxy, the Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society’s longest dog resident. Roxy is a 7-year-old female dog who loves to play fetch and go on walks. Roxy does need to eat a special veterinary bland diet with a medication to keep her tummy happy. Despite this, it does not hinder her ability to be a great dog.
