I read Friday’s article on impeachment with interest and was shocked by the comments of Richard Schmidt, chairman of the Manistee County Republican Party.
Our nation’s capital has just been invaded and vandalized resulting in death for only the second time since the British invaded it in 1812. This desecration was well planned and organized with the one goal of overturning a legal election and imposing an illegitimate government on our citizenry. It has become clear that this shameful event was encouraged by former President Donald Trump. For his illegal behavior of calling on the assembled, armed mob to march on the Capital building and take it over by force, Trump has now been impeached.
