On Day 2, less than 50% beneficiaries receive shots- The New Indian Express

Express News Service NEW DELHI: The second day of Covid vaccination drive in the national capital failed to achieve even half the day’s target as only 3,598 beneficiaries received the jab against the government’s goal of inoculating 8,100. According to the Delhi government, only 44 per cent of the targeted health workers received the vaccines on Monday. However, the state’s figure didn’t match with that of the central government. As per the Union Health Ministry, only 3,111 beneficiaries received their dose in Delhi on Monday. On Saturday, which was the first day of the pan-India vaccination, as many as 4,319 beneficiaries had received the shot in the city. While no vaccination was carried out on Sunday, the tally on Monday dropped by 721 compared to Saturday’s figure.

The accused has been identified as Maninder Shah Singh (68). Police said they had received a complainant from Motian Devi Lamba, an NRI based in London. The complainant said that she had purchased a property located in Greater Kailash in 1973. She had entered into an agreement to sell the property with Mr. Singh in 2010. As per the agreement, 51% of the money will be taken by the complainant and the rest by Mr. Singh. She had given him an SPA (Special Power of Attorney) also. Later, she came to know that Mr. Singh has further entered into an agreement to sale with M/s Skylink Construction Pvt. Ltd. for a total sale consideration of ₹27 crore. He also took ₹25 lakh in advance without the consent and knowledge of the complain

With movement restricted, the work-from-home culture took root and people were unwillingly forced to follow a sedentary lifestyle. However, the impact of all this has started to come out in the form of escalated issues of knee and joint pains, while the winter has amplified such issues. The Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (ISIC), set up by the Central government as a tertiary care hospital for spinal issues, said that it has witnessed a rise of 70 per cent of patients coming with autoimmune disorders like arthritis and new patients of knee, neck, back and joints pain amid the pandemic.
