Water levels are likely to reach danger and highest flood levels, the CWC said. As of 8 am today morning, rivers Manimala, Achankovil in Kerala and Kodaiyar in Tamil Nadu continued flowing in Severe situation , all three above their danger levels.

Scores of houses were damaged, trees uprooted and power supply disrupted for hours across Kerala as incessant rains and strong winds continue to lash the state on Saturday even as severe sea incursion disrupted normal life in the coastal areas.
According to the latest update of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a red alert, indicating the possibility of extremely heavy rains, was sounded in five northern districts of Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
Thunderstorm with moderate rainfall and gusty winds speed reaching 40 Kmph, is likely at one or two places in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, it added.

India’s meteorological department has issued a red alert in nine districts after the deep depression formed in the Arabian Sea intensified into a cyclonic storm named Tauktae. The IMD warned of heavy rain, thunderstorm, lightning and squall to intensify as the storm over the Laccadive archipelago is moving northwards off Kerala coasts.
It also caused huge damage to Kerala’s coastal areas where dozens of homes were washed away and hundreds of villagers took shelter in camps. The authorities said Kerala will receive heavy rains for two more days, though its intensity will weaken by Sunday.
Tauktae Cyclone path: The deep depression in the south Arabian Sea near Lakshadweep transformed into a cyclonic storm, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday. The IMD forecast says the cyclone with transform into a very severe cyclone as it gains momentum in the next three days. A red alert (extremely heavy rainfall of more than 20cm) has been sounded in Kerala's Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod and Union territory of Lakshadweep on Saturday. Orange alert of 11-20cm for very heavy rainfall in seven districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur. The cyclone will bring moderate to very heavy rain across the western coast of India from Kerala to Gujarat as it progresses over the next four days.
