MUMBAI: A Surat businessman, who allegedly under the influence of alcohol created a ruckus at a three-star hotel at Marine Drive and harassed hotel staff and guests, was arrested by police on Friday night. When police arrived he allegedly refused to wear a mask, misbehaved, manhandled them, broke their wireless radio and abused them too.
Marine Drive police booked Manish Mulchandani (34) for assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty, unlawful or negligent act, disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant and obstructing a public servant in discharge of public functions.
He had gone to the hotel s bar and around 9pm his friend left. Around 9.30pm he went to the lobby with two bottles of alcohol and started drinking. Hotel staff requested him not to drink in the lobby as other guests were getting disturbed.
