Photo/ANI One held with gold worth Rs 30 lakhs at Mangaluru airport ANI | Updated: Jan 31, 2021 10:52 IST Mangaluru (Karnataka) [India], January 31 (ANI): The Customs officers at Karnataka s Mangaluru International Airport on Saturday recovered 24k gold worth Rs 30 lakhs from a resident of Kasargod, Kerala who arrived from Dubai. According to the Customs Department, passenger Mashkoor Kallar had concealed the gold paste in his rectum. On profiling and personal search, the passenger was found to have concealed gold in paste form in his rectum. Gold weighing 0.587 kg of 24k purity valued at Rs 30 lakhs (approximately) was recovered and seized, the department said.

Karnataka Bank Q3 net rises 10 pc to Rs 135 crore ANI | Updated: Jan 12, 2021 18:05 IST Mangaluru (Karnataka) [India], Jan 12 (ANI): Karnataka Bank on Tuesday posted a net profit of Rs 135 crore for the third quarter of the current financial year, marking a growth rate of 9.93 per cent as against Rs 123 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous year. For the nine months period ended December 2020, the bank posted a net profit of Rs 451 crore as against Rs 404 crore for the corresponding period of last year with a year-on-year growth rate of 11.53 per cent. The operating profit during Q3 of current financial year was at Rs 438 crore. For the nine months period, operating profit stood at Rs 1,615 crore as against Rs 1,265 crore for the corresponding period of previous year with a growth of 27.67 per cent.

Nagaraj Kharvi who teaches at the Kalmanja government higher primary school in Udupi district of Karnataka, attempted the feat on Friday. Kharvi, who has won national-level swim championship, swam in the Padmasana Yoga posture in Arabian sea at Thannirubhavi in Mangaluru. Talking to ANI, Kharvi said that he was swimming for creating a record in India Book of records. I swam for get into my name in India Book of Records. Swimming in Padmasana position is a combination of Yoga and swimming, he said.
