Of those households without internet, roughly 36% of them have incomes of $20,000 or less.
With a pandemic that has forced many online to work, learn, socialize and more, Kent County leaders want to start breaking down the barriers hindering high-speed internet access to all in the county.

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Mayor Rosalynn Bliss will deliver the annual state-of-the-city address virtually this afternoon.
Kent County Board of Commissioners Chair Mandy Bolter and City Manager Mark Washington are also expected to deliver remarks.
It s scheduled to start at noon.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI Following public backlash, Kent County is renegotiating its $12,000 a day lease for DeVos Place convention center, the site of a large-scale COVID-19 vaccination clinic the county’s hosting with Spectrum Health and Mercy Health Saint Mary’s.
“Those numbers are going to come down,” said Kent County Administrator Wayman Britt, referencing the $12,000 daily fee which drew criticism from some members of the Kent County Board of Commissioners.
