The Haryana government led by Manohar Lal Khattar declared on Saturday that the Braj Mandal Shobha Yatra would not be sanctioned in Nuh, and section 144 was imposed in district.
The yatra was supposed to start from Nuh's Nalhar Mahadev Mandir, go to Ferozepur Jhirka and later Singar in Punhana. However, around 3 km away from the Nalhar temple, it was disrupted and violence erupted.
Five accused wanted in connection with the July 31 communal violence were handed over to the police by residents of Singar village following repeated appeals by the police and administration, an official said on Monday.
