£26,000 Wellcome Photography Prize 2021 focuses on our most urgent health challenges

In 2021, Wellcome will award £26,000 to photographers telling provocative visual stories about the health challenges of our time as part of its world-renowned Wellcome Photography Prize, culminating in an annual exhibition in London, a prestigious awards ceremony, and international press coverage.
As one of the world’s leading research-based charities, Wellcome is at the forefront of improving health around the globe, and this year, the photography Prize will center on three of the most important issues of our time: Managing Mental Health, Fighting Infections, and Health in a Heating World.

Oliver has announced that it is to sponsor The Executive Institute’s new Mental Strength and Resilience Series for 2021.
The Mental Strength and Resilience Series has been launched to provide members of The Executive Institute with a platform to learn about, and rise to, the resilience challenges they will continue to face for the remainder of the Covid-19 Pandemic and beyond.
There are four quarterly events in this event series. Topics include: The 5 C’s of Building a Resilient and Mentally Strong Team, Building Resilience in Children & Families, Five Biggest Threats Facing Teenagers Today (And What You as a Parent Can Do to Help Them), Managing Mental Health in the Workplace. Speakers at these events will be mental strength and resilience practitioners from the world of business, sport, and academia.

This spring, Lindokuhle Sobekwa turned twenty-five years old in lockdown. The photographer, who stayed with his girlfriend’s family in Johannesburg’s Thokoza township, was separated from his mother, sisters, and brother, making for a season peppered with worry and homesickness. When visiting his mother in Tsakane, he kept a social distance; in the other room, she found comfort in reading the Bible.
