As the officer followed, he witnessed the driver weaving. The Silverado then completely left the roadway and veered back into traffic almost hitting the vehicle in the outside lane, the report said.
Upon stopping the driver, the officer said he detected an odor of alcohol as LaCayo presented his driver s license and Fort Walton Beach ID. LaCayo, who told officers he had consumed two beers, was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests at the scene of the traffic stop. He declined to take a breath test or answer questions.
The charge is a misdemeanor.
LaCayo lists a Jacksonville address as his home. Beedie said he had not yet found a residence in Fort Walton Beach.
