Women who witnessed the violent land acquisition protests are wary of choosing between Mamata Banerjee and her chief opponent
Two women, victims of violence that rocked Nandigram during the land acquisition protests in 2007, and who live barely 50 metres apart, now find themselves in opposing camps. The Shiv Sena has mocked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe over the incident in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee got injured. In an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana, Shiv Sena termed the demand as the biggest joke of the elections.
It further says that the injury will cost the BJP ten to twenty seats in West Bengal. Shiv Sena even says that the injury will make Mamata Banerjee more aggressive. Terming the West Bengal chief minister as a tigress, Shiv Sena says her injured feet has scared the BJP.

Making fun of Mamata’s unsuccessful attempt to ride a battery operated two-wheeler to protest against fuel price hike, Modi had said: “If your scooty falls in Nandigram, what can we do”.
