2. In a pan set the water to boil.
3. In a deep-bottomed pan add the oil. Once it is warm, add bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves.
4. Now add the dried rice in the pan and mix with the spices and the oil very well.
5. Now add ginger paste turmeric or saffron and sugar. Mix it very well.
6. Then add the raisins, cashew nut and the green peas. Give it a final stir and before the rice grains turn brown, add the hot water.
7. Cover and cook it over a medium flame for 10 minutes.
8. Check for doneness. If the rice grains are still a little hard, cover and let it sit for another 5 minutes on a very low flame.
NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Sunday imposed a 24-hour campaign ban on BJP leader Sayantanu Basu as well as Trinamool Congress candidate from Arambag Sujata Mondal for their separate remarks found to be in violation of the model code of conduct.
The 24-hour ban on both leaders will kick in at 7pm on Sunday. With public meetings and rallies barred between 7 pm and 10am anyway on account of Covid, the ban will effectively restrain them from active campaigning for 9 hours only.
Basu had, in a speech delivered at North 24 Parganas on April 12, linked the April 10 firing by the Central forces in Sitalkuchi to the death of 18-year-old Ananda Barman, brother of BJP’s shakti pramukh, and threatened that four persons will be killed for each political murder.

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday banned BJP leader Sayantan Basu and Trinamool Congress leader Sujata Mondal from campaigning for 24 hours for their recent comments.
The ban is effective from 7 p.m. on Sunday to 7 p.m. on Monday.
Basu was banned from campaigning for his remark over Sitalkuchi violence in which five people lost
their lives, while Sujata Mondal for her remarks against Schedule Caste (SC) community.
