Former minister Malusi Gigaba said that it was not true that he told his estranged wife, Norma Mngoma, that the money in his safe was from the Guptas or that it was for African National Congress (ANC) elections.
Speaking at the state capture inquiry Gigaba said he was aware that the Guptas has used his name, and that of other ministers, to wield influence. He said this led to the pulling of relations .

JOHANNESBURG - Former Transnet CEO Siyabonga Gama said that his career at Transnet was made before Malusi Gigaba’s tenure and that it was not true that Gigaba made him.
He said that he had always wanted to work for SOEs because he was tired of the economy remaining in the hands of the elite few.
