South Florida Aquatic Club’s four-time Jamaican Olympian Alia Atkinson won five gold medals at the four-day Piranhas Senior Invitational, which concluded on Sunday, at the Plantation Aquatic Center in Florida.
Atkinson, 32, opened her account by teaming up with Elena Dinehart, Paige Lane, and Mallory Schleicher to win the 200-metre medley race in 2:00.57 on Thursday, March 4, the first day of action.
Atkinson, already qualified for her fifth Olympics for Jamaica, then won two gold medals each on day two and day three for an impressive showing.
On the second night, Atkinson won the 100-metre breaststroke in 1:08.40 and the 100-metre butterfly in 1:00.87.
