situation. because the malaysian authorities are running this investigation, but typically, the nation where the crash happens is the one who leads the investigation. but we don t each have square one. we don t have a plane that s crashed. and we don t have a location. that s correct. it may have landed safely. that is still an option that s very much on the table. and the information i had today from a source close to the investigation is that there is no evidence that it crashed cath rain, as always, thank you. you are welcome. are are there new clues that malaysian airlines flight 370 landed safely. usually when it crashes it causes elts to transmit a signal to the satellite. this is different anen than the audio ping and the black box. flight 370 never sent that distress signal indicating that it crashed. so, did it really crash or could it have landed safely somewhere? joining us from florida 777 pilot hank wit more and here in d.c. former fbi agent and
west and then really the next thing next event on this time line is 6:30 a.m. that s when the plane was supposed to land. and what happened between that last transmission and that scheduled arrival time, there is still so much mystery, it s really opaque the facts that happened during that period. what happened at 8:11 a.m. which is more than an hour and a half after that plane is supposed to have been landing in beijing. there is a communication notice here that there is a ping. what kind of ping? from what? well, the way this works is the plane has a satellite communication system. that is always on. and even after a, the system that sends information about the engine and sends other flight details and would have had very specific details, even after it was shut off, there was a handshake that went on with the satellite communication system. just saying every hour i m still here. i m still here we still have those records. that s how we know and found out last wednesday night
come back east and move in the other direction? that doesn t make any sense. it s just more things in this story as we learn more if there are just more questions and it gets more frustrating. how do they know that it was entered into the computer? this information was sent down by the plane in those moments leading up to when they lost they basically were lost on civilian radar. so that would be would that be at the 107 acars communication or not? yes. from the acars situation it was sent back down. acars every 30 minutes it sort of cycles and nothing received at 21:37 from acars? correct. that s my understanding. it s likely that it happened and 1:19 is when the co-pilots said good night. just your point, the u.s. the malaysians weren t transparent in the first week and came out saturday and sort of publicly came out and said this was foul play. now the stuff we are getting is being passed to the
when the journal broke the story that this plane was still in the air. we re thankful that that was still going because that really is the evidence that it was still flying. well, what kind of date is 8:11. every hour or so i would think there would be data at 6:11, 7:11 and 5:11. handshake. plane is in the air or provide any sort of information? it says nothing but the plane is still in the air and that it s flying and they are able to triangulate and get through analysis of the signal. but it sends o. proximately where it is and determined that it is in the air it does have altitude at that point. beyond that all the other information was cut off when they cut off acars. when did malaysia airline because it seems to me at 1:37 could should have figured out that the plane was missing it hadn t responded. 1:07 acars but didn t respond at 1:37. did malaysia airlines have any clue the plane was missing door they all show up at the gate at 6:30 with the airline at beijing?
investigated. terry in looking at the similarities. have they looked into what it was he was doing with that similarity. no. they haven t released any information about that similarity other than the fact that they seized it in a raid on his home. have they explained why the malaysian military has been withholding information at least that the plane came back through and at least we think noted by their radar? no, they haven t explained that. it took several days for the information to come out that the military had actually tracked it coming back through the malaysian mainland. they also haven t explained why the air force didn t scramble when they noticed this plane coming through unannounced. in terms of the fuel on board. everybody is talking about enough to get to it beijing and further. they don t want to overload the plane with fuel if they don t need it. have they verified how much
