Just more than 100 years after the Jefferson City Jays and the Marshall Owls met on the football field for the first time, they are set for their most important matchup in series’ history. The Jays and Owls will square off at 7 p.m. today at Adkins Stadium with a ticket to the Class 4 District 5 championship game on the line.
JEFFERSON CITY A week after winning their first game this season, the seventh-seeded Fulton Hornets fell 63-16 to the second-seeded Jefferson City Jays in the Class 4 District 5 opening round Friday at Adkins Stadium.
It was a business-like performance from the No. 2 seed Jefferson City Jays on Friday night against the No. 7 seed Fulton Hornets at Adkins Stadium.
The Jays scored touchdowns on eight of their nine first-half possessions to take a 57-8 lead into the locker room and ran away with a 63-16 victory in the first round of the Class 4 District 5 Tournament.
