Seattle U hosted its annual Athletics Awards Show, a virtual event, on June 3. In what was truly a unique year for Athletics, it was a celebration of its senior class along with an awards ceremony covering the past year of achievements.
Ally Choate, 21, of softball earned the Female Student-Athlete of the Year. She hit a team-high .363 with 58 hits in 50 games, playing a vital role in the team’s run to the NCAA Tournament. The native of Yelm, Wash., has a 3.73 cumulative GPA while majoring in Humanities for Teaching with minors in mathematics and social welfare. Choate earned her third straight First Team All-WAC honor and was picked NFCA Third Team All-Region. She is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and has claimed three Academic All-WAC selections.

Odugbesan still had three out of six more throws that would have clinched him the title. The Crimson Tide had three other players finish in the top 15 with Santiago Basso at No. 6, Nathan Cooper at No.13 and Josiah Harry at No. 15.
The senior from Lagos, Nigeria started the 2021 outdoor season with a third-place finish in the shot put at the Pepsi Florida Relays with a mark of 19.08m and finished silver in the Crimson Tide Invitational (19.12m). Throughout the 2021 indoor season, Odugbesan won gold at the South Carolina Invitational and the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Odugbesan finished in 11th place at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Shot Put (19.17m).
