The parents of the 27 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State recently released by their abductors have called for proper rehabilitation for the children.
In a statement by the parents on Friday, jointly signed by the forum s chairman, Malam Abdullahi Usman and Secretary, Mrs Catherine Y. Saleh, the group of parents also expressed their appreciation to Nigerians and specially thanked some prominent Nigerians and organisations for the roles they played to secure the release of their children.

Twenty-seven abducted students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been released by bandits.
The Chairman of The Forum of the Abducted Parents, Malam Abdullahi Usman confirmed it to our correspondent on the telephone on Wednesday.
The elated chairman said, “Yes, they have been released after 50 days.”
On March 11, 2021 bandits invaded the school located in Afaka along the Kaduna International Airport road and abducted 39 students.
The bandits demanded N500m as ransom for their release, but 10 of the 39 students had been released in two batches of five each.

The remaining 29 students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, have been released. This is even as former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday cautioned the Federal Government against paying ransom to kidnappers and bandits, saying it is capable of encouraging criminals in their evil act.
It will be recalled that 39 students of the school were kidnapped 57 days ago by bandits who invaded and demanded payment of N500 million ransom to effect their release.
