[national anthem] [national anthem] [national anthem] will: we start this morning off with a fox news alert, the u.s. and u.k. carrying out a new wave of airstrikes yesterday, this time targeting sites in yemen occupied by the iranian-linked houthi rebels. pete: the pentagon confirming strikes on at least 36 targets and more than a dozen different sites including weapon facilities, missile launchers and air defense systems. that s what we re today. while the british with military says it struck a ground control station near yemen s capital. rachel: the u.s. and coalition forces are putting out a joint statement saying we will not hesitate to continue to defend lives and commerce in one of the world s most critical waterways in the face of continued threats. will: meanwhile, the houthis are vowing to respond saying, quote, the american-british aggression with against yemen will not go unanswered, and we will meters calculation wees calculation. pete: the

good afternoon, everybody. i m martha maccallum. this is the story this afternoon. a somber scene as president biden and the first lady receive the dignified transfer of three american soldiers coming home. they were killed in the drone attack in jordan at a place that is known as tower 22. there members of our armed forces supply and reinforced the protection of civilians in syria and iraq and during that attack more than 40 other service members were injured by an iranian-made drone. so the president also met with the families of these three fallen soldiers today at doer air force base in delaware. they are 46-year-old sergeant william rivers, 23-year-old specialist breonna moffett and 24-year-old specialist kennedy sanders. moffett and sanders were promoted to sergeant post posth posthumously. the president has said he has decided how to retaliate for the death of these three americans. so far we have not seen that response. dana perino is with me here in new york with a
on a u.s. base in jordan that killed three service members and injured dozens. here s what we know about the attack. you can see it in the middle of your screen, it was a logistics place where army and air force personnel are deployed as part of the effort to prevent the resurgence of isis. the pentagon reporting in the last hour all three killed were members of the army reserve. they are 46-year-old sergeant william jerome river, specialist kennedy l. sanders, 4 years old from georgia and 23-year-old specialist breonna moffett also from georgia. a drone struck the living quarters of the base where some of the troops were sleeping. eight of the injured had to be evacuated out of jordan because of the severity of their injuries. that s according to u.s. central command. an umbrella group of iranian-backed militias has claimed responsibility and brand-new reporting on what went wrong. the new york times reports air defenses failed to stop a deadly attack on a u.s. military ou
