if they re positive, i think the status quo is likely to remain intact. what are your expectations? i was pretty surprised the president was more negative about the candidates when we saw him speak a few moments ago after the polling that showed all the candidates pulling ahead against him in a general election. he can be a pretty astute political analyst and i think him saying that biden needs to not make a mistake is true. for someone like joe biden whose argument rests on his electability making a misstep, having a gaffe, appearing to be a step behind the other candidates would be problematic for him. one of the most interesting thing i pulled is how elizabeth warren is in all realms. her numbers have gone up
the polls. and people, you know, are sticking with him. when i talk to democrats, there is this nervousness. nervousness that is overtaking him. they re afraid about not nominating the wrong candidate. they re afraid of making a misstep. i think when you look at how biden has fared in this part of the cycle, he had a not so great first debate and not so good second debate and the numbers didn t even go down. the voters are not as nervous as the washington cocktail circuit. a guy i am very wary. i ve known joe forever. i m a lot like him in background. there is always the tendency. i got to tell you, anybody in the democratic party with this president can win, and anybody can lose. yeah. this is wildly open. i think that s true. making predictions are impossible. and when are democrats not nervous? or divisive or neurotic. anyway, the cocktail circuit. they don t need booze to worry.
