A 28-year-old suspect is due to appear before the Kwamhlanga Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, Monday 03 May 2021, on two counts of murder as well as an attempted murder case. The suspect was apprehended at Tweefontein on Thursday, 29 April 2021.
His arrest spirals from an intensive investigation by a team of astute detectives tasked to probe a number of senseless killings which have engulfed the taxi industry in the province recently. A call was also extended to the community to assist police with relevant information to help police in their investigation. In that regard, patriotic citizens volunteered valuable information which shed light on the investigation. The information provided led police to a house in Tweefontein where the suspect in question was sniffed out.
Farm murder: Manhunt to find suspects who killed mother and son
Police has expressed concern over the senseless killings of farmers. On Saturday, 24 April, two people were killed in another farm murder.
Mpumalanga police has launched a manhunt to find the suspects in connection with the tragic death of a mother and son in yet another farm murder.
Police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said the victims were killed at Valley Farm outside Nelspruit on Saturday, 24 April. The two victims has since been identified as Anna-Marie Botha and her son Rohn Britz.

“Police in Mpumalanga have launched a frantic manhunt following a heartless incident in which two people, a 56-year-old mother as well as her son aged 34, were murdered during a robbery. The sad incident occurred at a certain farm outside Nelspruit yesterday, Saturday 24 April 2021,” said Mdhluli.

A police
search is under way for suspects who killed a mother and her son at a farm
outside Nelspruit, in Mpumalanga, on Saturday.
A 64-year
old woman, identified as Anna-Marie Botha and her son, Ruan Britz, aged 34,
were murdered during a robbery, police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said
on Sunday.
Mdhluli
said emergency services received a call about the incident at the Valley Farm
around 18:30 on Saturday.
On arrival,
a male and female were found lying motionless, he said. The
two seemed to have been hit with an object and, unfortunately, they were
certified dead at the scene.
Government official and wife arrested after alleged rape of young girls
Horrific reports have emerged that the Gauteng Municipal Director and his wife repeatedly raped and abused two young girls for several years.
Police have confirmed that a “49-year-old senior Government official and his wife” have been taken into custody and charged with the rape of two minors in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, with disturbing details emerging about a heinous period of abuse spanning several years.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) declined to name the government official, but said that the man is director of one of Gauteng’s many Municipalities and is the uncle of the children who were sexually assaulted. His wife is 36-years-old and is alleged to have masterminded a sinister plot to lure the girls away from their home in Mozambique to their home where they were repeatedly raped by both adults.
