Indian and Bangladesh border guarding forces will jointly engage in streamlining mechanism in the upcoming year to curb trans-border crimes a major concern of the two neighbouring countries that affects security, as well as internal system due to the illegal activities.
India s Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) set the target after the 51st Director General level border coordination conference between them yielded positive results .
Besides streamlining mechanisms to jointly curb trans-border crimes, both forces reiterated their commitment to work jointly for ensuring peace and tranquility along borders.

Guwahati, Dec 22 : The five-day Director General (DG) level Border Coordination Conference (BCC) between India s Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB), which begun here on Tuesday, would deliberate upon the steps being taken to reinforce the security grid in a cohesive manner for the betterment of people living along the borders of both the countries, an official release said.
The two forces will deliberate upon steps being taken to strengthen the security grid The 51st Director General level border coordination conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) began in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The biannual conference, scheduled to conclude on December 26, is being held to discuss issues related to border management.
The BSF delegation is being headed by Director General Rakesh Asthana and the BGB by its Director General, Major General Shafeenul Islam.
“The heads of the two forces will deliberate upon steps being taken to strengthen the security grid in a cohesive manner for betterment of people living on the borders of both the countries,” a BSF spokesperson said.
