AMD has benchmarked their flagship 3rd Gen EPYC Milan CPU in Cinebench R23 and broken all previous records set by last-generation Ryzen Threadripper CPUs based on the Zen 2 architecture. The world record benchmark not only puts AMD in the leading position when it comes to multi-threaded performance but also shows just how fast the upcoming generation of HEDT AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPUs is going to be.
AMD Breaks Cinebench World Record With Its 3rd Gen EPYC Milan CPUs Proving That Next-Gen Ryzen Threadripper HEDT CPUs Would Offer A Monstrous Performance Uplift
The AMD 3rd Gen EPYC Milan lineup is based on the 7nm Zen 3 core architecture with a brand new cache design and all-new cores. The Zen 3 architecture brought a 19% IPC uplift over Zen 2 which is major considering that Zen 2 already delivered an impressive IPC gain over the first generation Zen core architecture.

A missing piece of AMD s upcoming roadmap was just posted by Twitter user @sepeuwmjh (via Videocardz). The roadmap reveals a missing codename that is suspected to be AMD s lineup of desktop CPUs featuring Zen4 technology and Navi2 graphics. The missing corner is from a roadmap that was originally posted by MebiuW and has since been cleanly compiled by @Olrak29 .
AMD s Raphael APUs: TSMC 5nm, Zen4 architecture and Navi2 iGPU, currently scheduled to land in early 2022
The following snippet was tweeted by twitter user sepeuwmjh, which appears to be a generic leak account from a company insider. Considering it matches 1-1 the leak by MebiuW ages ago, it is likely that they are from the same source.
X570S UD
Motherboard makers tend to refresh their product lineups when a new CPU family is launched. A slight refresh of the X570 motherboards was offered with the Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPUs and since then, the motherboards have mostly been kept the same. It s been 2 years since we moved beyond X570 and a third refresh could be offered in the form of X570S for the AMD Ryzen Warhol Refresh lineup.
Yuko Yoshida (formerly Kitty Corgi) who has been very reliable with his past information recently stated that AMD will be releasing its next-generation Ryzen mainstream CPUs, codenamed Warhol, very soon but does not give an exact month. As for the naming scheme, it is likely that Warhol CPUs could either use the existing Ryzen 5000 CPU branding with an additional notifier such as XT on the Matisse Refresh CPUs or AMD could just simply call the Ryzen 6000 Desktop CPUs.
AMD Ryzen 7000 Phoenix Notebook APUs For FP8 Platform
The reason we are saying that Phoenix APUs will fall under the AMD Ryzen 7000 banner is that it comes after Rembrandt which is the successor to the Ryzen 5000 Cezanne APUs. If AMD doesn t skip any naming convention till Phoenix, then the lineup would most definitely fall under the Ryzen 7000 banner however it will still be considered the 6th Generation Zen APU offering since Renoir is 3rd Gen and Cezanne is 4th Gen.
It is also interesting how the rumor states that the Phoenix lineup of Notebook APUs will be made for the FP8 platform. AMD s Rembrandt APUs are already rumored for the FP7 socket which means that FP7 would only last a single APU generation. It may very well be possible that AMD has since changed its plans and will bring Rembrandt on FP8 too as an intermediate solution before Phoenix APUs arrive.

With Zen 3 released, all eyes are set on AMD s next-generation CPU architecture for Ryzen and EPYC CPUs which is codenamed Zen 4. We have heard little about the next-generation core but rumors state that it is going to offer another huge IPC jump and a massive overall performance gain over existing processors.
AMD Ryzen & EPYC CPUs Based on Next-Gen 5nm Zen 4 Cores Rumored To Feature Over 25% IPC Gain
The latest rumor comes from ChipsandCheese whose sources have reported them that Genoa, AMD s next-generation server family, is going to be insanely fast compared to existing AMD EPYC offerings. The source also talks about Zen 3+ and Zen 5 but most of the information that has been shared is related to the Zen 4 core architecture.
