There are many ways to tell true-crime stories on TV. They might include narration that introduces the subject and provides a commentary. There could be interviews with survivors of the crime, or witnesses to it, observations from police and lawyers who became involved in the case, contributions from family members and friends.
The production might use photos, news and archival footage or home movies. There could be flashback sequences and dramatised recreations of events.
