June 10, 2021 Lyna Mohamad Senior citizen Hajah Kulam binti Tahir, who received her first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday, is currently the oldest person in Brunei Darussalam to be inoculated at 99-years-old. Born in 1922 in Limbang, Sarawak, Hajah Kulam was vaccinated at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital (PMMPMHAMB) in Tutong District, with her five children, daughter-in-law and  son-in law. Her son-in-law, Associate Professor Ampuan Dr Haji Ibrahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah, expressed relief at his mother-in-law’s willingness to take the vaccine together with the rest of the family. “My mother-in-law is usually receptive to her children’s advice and recommendations, especially when going for a doctor’s appointment,” he said.
