Senior citizen Hajah Kulam binti Tahir, who received her first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday, is currently the oldest person in Brunei Darussalam to be inoculated at 99-years-old.
Born in 1922 in Limbang, Sarawak, Hajah Kulam was vaccinated at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital (PMMPMHAMB) in Tutong District, with her five children, daughter-in-law and son-in law.
Her son-in-law, Associate Professor Ampuan Dr Haji Ibrahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah, expressed relief at his mother-in-law’s willingness to take the vaccine together with the rest of the family. “My mother-in-law is usually receptive to her children’s advice and recommendations, especially when going for a doctor’s appointment,” he said.
