On Sunday, Ajit Pawar led a vertical split in the NCP to become deputy chief minister in the one-year-old Shiv Sena-BJP government, shocking his uncle Sharad Pawar, who founded the party 24 years ago after quitting the Congress.
Ajit Pawar News: Nationalist Congress Party's Ajit Pawar, along with 9 party leaders, joined the Maharashtra government today. Mr Pawar will share the Deputy Chief Minister post with BJP's Devendra Fadnavis.
There will also be two mobile control rooms along the route that the palanquins will take, with 1000 medical kits being provided to the Palkhi organisers.
After announcing his decision to step down from the post of NCP president, Pawar said a panel of senior party leaders will draw a future course of action
Fadnavis' reaction comes in the backdrop of the speculations that Ajit Pawar was being offered chief ministerial post by BJP in anticipation of the Supreme Court verdict regarding disqualification of some MLAs of the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde
